The crew here at HMS Friday have been religiously putting in the hours playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops and haven’t so far been disappointed in the latest addition of the first person shooter franchise. But one thing which has soured our experience is the noticeable rise in the number of online players with swastika flags for their clan tags and gaming cards which show up etched onto their weapons during play.
The two pictures above clearly illustrate how some players have hand designed the Nazi flags using the customisable options Treyarch have built into the multi-player section of the game. Yes, you could argue the swastika is everywhere on the Zombie Maps and has popped up on numerous occasions during single player campaigns in previous Call Of Duty games, but for a player to actually spend time and effort creating a replica Nazi flag, either to be deliberately controversial or worse, is offensive for gamers like us who see it as a representation of Nazism. Should developers Treyarch enforce a ban on those responsible? What do you think?
