Avast! A Booze Soaked Trailer For Grabbers.

This is a bit like the cult classic movie Tremors, but the only difference being instead of a sleepy little desert town invaded by underground man eating worms it’s a sleepy little Irish coastal  town invaded by man eating sea creatures.

Grabbers stars Richard Coyle (W.E, Prince of Persia) and Ruth Bradley (Flyboys, “Love/Hate”) and is directed by Irish filmmaker Jon Wright. The movie’s plot rattles along like so:

An idyllic remote Irish fishing village is invaded by enormous bloodsucking tentacled creatures from the sea. With islanders turning up decapitated and drained of blood, the inhabitants learn that the creatures–called Grabbers–are allergic to alcohol, making intoxicated people toxic to eat. Overrun and under attack, the hopeless locals realize that in order to stay alive they’re going to have to band together at the pub and do their best to survive the night.

Grabbers, which will be released towards the end of the year, was showcased at Sundance and picked up positive reviews with Empire film magazine describing it as: “a romantic but surprisingly scary monster movie that feels like a lost Amblin flick, shaken and stirred with a dash of The Guard.
