So a while back American super store Walmart, in a callous attempt to boost their online profile, announced that they had teamed up with hip-hop artist Pitbull and would get him to play a live performance in the Walmart outlet which received the single most likes on Facebook.
Of course the Internet community took notice of this announcement, in particular a writer for the Boston Phoenix, David Thorpe who ignited an online campaign for people to ‘like’ the shit out of the only Walmart store in Alaska. Fast forward to the present and it seems Pitbull is indeed on his way to perform at the Walmart in Kodiak, Alaska. Well played Internet. Well played indeed.
Just a shame there isn’t a Walmart in Iran.
