If you’re a Bruce Campbell fan, or an Evil Dead fan, then you really must stop what you are doing, lock the front door, draw the blinds and bask in this brilliant trailer for Sam Raimi’s forthcoming TV series Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
Ash is indeed back battling the undead and demons with one hand and one-liners in what looks like a camp, OTT collection of episodes every horror fan will relish. The plot is set 30 years on from the original film and the old fella, even though a few pounds heavier, still has it, was there ever any doubt he had lost it?
Speaking at the show’s Comic Con panel in San Diego yesterday Campbell explained a little more about the return of his iconic character:
“He has survivor’s guilt. You could have a heyday with his PTSD. He’s a war vet. He continues being a trash-talking know-it-all who doesn’t really know anything. He’s the ultimate anti-hero. He’s kind of an idiot, but man, if I had to go to battle, I’d want to be next to that guy, because he’ll bring it if he has to.”
In news which should surprise no fan of this property Ash Vs. Evil Dead premieres this Halloween.
Above is the first official trailer for the movie Goosebumps directed by Rob Letterman, (Shark Tale, Monsters v Aliens) and stars Jack Black and is based on the best-selling series of kids books of the same name.
The plot for Goosebumps rattles along like so:
Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine, the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
It looks like a delicious mix of Joe Dante’s Gremlins, The Monster Squad and Jumanji. Goosebumps is scheduled for release on October 16th.
Just ahead of this year’s Wimbeldon tennis championships HBO have released a trailer for their sports mockumentary Seven Days In Hell, which stars Andy Samberg and Kit ‘Jon Snow’ Harington.
The plot for this film, which quite clearly intends to rip the piss out of Wimbeldon rattles along like so:
Aaron Williams, (Samberg), is adopted at an early age by Serena and Venus Williams’ father and is taught how to play tennis, unfortunately although a great player Aaron has a problem with authority and earns a reputation on court as ‘the bad boy of tennis’. Charles Poole, (Harington), is the polar opposite, he’s a proper English gentleman whose downside is that he’s a complete idiot and has difficulty understanding anything. During the Wimbeldon tennis finals the pair are pitted against each other in a match which lasts for seven long days.
7 Days in Hell will premiere on HBO on July 11th expect it to be shown over here soon after.
Game developers Bethesda Studios presented a mind-blowing pre-E3 showcase on Sunday night.
Of course the main attraction was a hefty 15 minutes of gameply from their much anticipated fourth Fallout game which looks nothing short of glorious. During the presentation, which included previews of Doom and The Elder Scrolls Online, some truly creative additions to the Fallout franchise were officialy unveiled.
One of the stand-out moments included the reveal of an actual working Pitt Boy device, fetured throughout the game, which you can use in conjection with your smartphone. The working Pitt Boys will only be available to customers who buy the collector’s edition of the game.
The last shock for fans was the release dateof November 10th…which can’t come quick enough.
Game developers Bethesda have finally confirmed that there will now be a fourth Fallout game and during their official announcement of their new game they went a step further and delivered a gloriously looking launch trailer.
It’s been almost seven years since the last Fallout game and fans have been foaming at the mouth for news on a follow-up. As of yet very little is known about the forthcoming addition to the game’s franchise except of course it will be set approximately 200 years after a war over resources that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077. The setting is a post-apocalyptic retro-future, covering a region that includes Boston, Massachusetts and other parts of New England known as the Commonwealth.
Bad news for Xbox 360 and PS3 owners as Bethesda have confirmed that Fallout 4 will not be coming to those platforms upon release or for the foreseeable future.
Above is the first official trailer for the wholly uneccesary Point Break remake and although it looks actiony and sweaty enough it sadly seems to be lacking in something.
Directed by Ericson Cove, (Invincible), this time around Johnny Utah, played by Luke Bracey, (The November Man) takes on an extraordinary team of extreme sports athletes he suspects of masterminding a string of unprecedented, sophisticated corporate heists led by the enigmatic Bodhi, played Edgar Ramirez, (The Bourne Ultimatum).
Sounds like Ray Winstone, who plays Angelo Pappas, a role originally fleshed out by Gary Busey, has been attending the Dick Van Dyke School of movie accents. Terrible.
Point Break is scheduled for release on Christmas Day.
Tis a wonderful day when you discover your favourite dirctor Joe Dante, (Gremlins, Inner Space), has a new movie coming out soon.
Above is the trailer for Burying The Ex which stars Anton Yelchin, (Star Trek, Fright Night), Ashley Greene,(The Twilight Saga), and Alexandra Daddario, (True Detective, San Andreas). The plot of which rattles along like so:

When Evelyn turns out to be a controlling, manipulative nightmare, Max knows it’s time to call it quits, but there’s just one problem: he’s terrified of breaking up with her. Above is the first official trailer for a Ukrainian film entitled The Tribe. A movie shot entirely in sign language and with no subtitles or a single spoken word of dialogue.

Sergey, a shy boy, enrols as a new student at a boarding school for the deaf and soon finds that a gang of kids run the place like the Mafia. It’s not long before he is dragged into their murky world involving, bribery, robbery and even prostitution.

Here’s the second official trailer for the Adam Sandler led sci-fi comedy Pixels set for release on July 24th.
The plot for the film rattles along like so:
In 1982, in the hopes of establishing peaceful communication with extraterrestrial life, NASA launches a time capsule into outer space containing images and footage of Earth life and culture. However, aliens misinterpret enclosed video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war. They attack the Earth using the games as models for their various assaults, including Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. President William Cooper (Kevin James) calls upon his best friend since childhood, former 1980s arcade champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), to combat the video game characters, Brenner decides to lead a team of retrogamers to defeat the aliens with various technology similar to those used in games.
I’m not a fan of Sandler or James personally, or their movies, but the one saving grace for this film is that it’s directed by Chris Columbus, a man previously responsible for Home Alone, Mrs Doubtfire and two Harry Potter movies. We live in hope.
Here’s the first official trailer for Vacation, a reboot of the original comedy classic National Lampoon’s Vacation which starred Chevy Chase back in 1983.

Vacation is scheduled for release on July 29th.
