Charting A Course Through The Mundane
Every time Danny Macaskill uploads a new video of him bending the laws of physics on a bike we end up watching it multiple times.
His latest short film is no exception which sees Danny try out the new Santa Cruz Ebike by testing it to its limits on the Scottish islands of Inchkeith and Skye, where he grew up.
It seems every time something seems a little too dangerous Danny gets excited and runs headlong into it, screaming with joy. Never change Danny, never change.
Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently paid tribute to his best friend Franco Columbu, who died on Friday after taking unwell whilst swimming and drowned.
Columbu, (78), was a two time former Mr Olympia and had been Arnie’s best friend since 1965. Taking to social media the Hollywood star posted his thoughts on his friend’s sudden passing:
After seven series of the endurance obstacle course TV show American Ninja Warrior nobody has ever completed the event to the very end, except of course until now.
Isaac Caldiero, a rock climbing, busboy, defeated the course and then climbed up a very long rope three seconds faster than the other guy and walked away with a tidy sum of $1m.
Incidentally that obstacle he crosses in the video called the Pole Grasper reminded me of a wee woman who used to live in my street, who had a propensity to make a grab for your genitals whenever she was close enough.
The video above shows an outrageous last minute goal by Den Haag keeper Martin Hansen against PSV.
The deft back heel came in the 96th minute to tie the match 2-2 in the Dutch first division opening game.
Interviewed after the match Hansen explained: ‘I don’t know what happened, just instinct!’
I’m not much of a fan of the old Super Bowl but I have to admit listening to the big game on my trusty old wireless was surprisingly exciting.

As is tradition in America this time every year they put on a massive ornithology show featuring some sort of Superb Owl. The event is massive and companies and movie studios clamber to buy up advertising space during the televised coverage.

The video above was filmed by an amatuer football referee who strapped a camera to his chest and filmed the game he was reffing. Following a particulalry nasty tackle the match quickly descends into chaos when a spectator runs onto the field of play and throws some punches.
As a person who has played rugby most of my life all I will say in relation to this video is that football, (soccer), is a gentleman’s sport played by thugs where rugby is a thug’s sport played by gentlemen.
Who would honestly be a football referee?
The Internet is littered with near miss videos, moments captured on film where men and women have inexplicbly escaped death even as the Grim Reaper’s scythe appears to bearing down upon them. This is one such video.
The fact that no-one including the driver Piero Scavone and navigator Diego D’Hérin didn’t suffer so much as a bruise is an absolute miracle. I’ve watched this video a dozen times and I’m still amazed those lucky people lived to see another day.
Here’s a video of skater James Kelly hurtling down roads at 60mph.
He was filmed as part of a promo shoot for Arbor Skates and at 1.20 you realise why.
Unfortunately things went a little pear shaped for James as he came off during a run at a top speed which resulted in injury, but thankfully nothing too serious.
