Special Preview Of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.

If you aren’t a Marvel fanboy then you probably won’t have a clue what M.O.D.O.K means and that doesn’t make you a bad person.

Last week a special preview video was released by Marvel giving us all a sneak peek at their new stop-motion TV series, which charts the trials and tribulations of super villian M.O.D.O.K.,(Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing).

Voiced by the super talented comedian Patton Oswalt the series deals with the daily struggle of this gigantic mechanical powered head as he tries to juggle family life and run an evil company, hell-bent on world domination. The official plot of the series rattles along like so:

After spending years failing to gain control of the world and battling superheroes along the way, M.O.D.O.K., having been removed from his company A.I.M. after it falls into bankruptcy and is sold to the rivaling GRUMBL, begins to deal with his tainting family while facing a mid-life crisis

This is a comedy animation series and a departure from Marvel’s more series content. M.O.D.O.K. is set to be released on Hulu early next year.

The Merkin’s Cover Seven Nation Army As GOT Parody.

There’s only a handful of Game Of Thrones episodes left and as the tension mounts and fans get nervous over the fate of their favourite characters, the comedy band The Merkins have released a fantastic GOT themed parody of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes.

 

Entitled Seven Kingdom Army it has band members dressed as White Walkers belting out a tune which I will probably constantly think about when we finally watch The Knight King and his un-dead horde descend upon Winterfell.

Trailer For New Amazon Crime Series Too Old To Die Young Looks Amazing.

Here’s your first official look at the new crime series developed for Amazon Prime, by acclaimed director Nicolas Wingding Refn, (Driver, Pusher Trilogy).

Too Old To Die Young stars Miles Teller, (Whiplash), as a police officer who, through a series of events, finds himself thrust into a criminal underworld populated by working class hit men, Yakuza soldiers, cartel assassins sent from Mexico, Russian mafia captains and gangs of teen killers.

The trailer itself looks stunning and as Refn has proved in previous projects his stylish presentation is something to behold.

Too Old To Die Young will be available to watch on Amazon Prime on June 14th.

Luther Series 5 Trailer Is Here…Finally.

I love the detective drama series Luther but there’s one massive reason this show get’s on my nerves. The wait.

After three years. Three, whole, long years fans and viewers are expected to pick up from where Idris Elba’s protaginist DCI John Luther left off. The first series consisted of six episodes and was broadcast in 2010. Due to it’s high ratings and popularity the BBC commissioned a second series almost immediately, which consisted of only four episodes and was aired in 2011. Following on from this a further four episodes were filmed for series three but the didn’t hit the screens until 2013 and then almost three years later we got series 4 which was a paltry two episode affair. Now here we are three years after the last series aired with just 16 episodes in total over almost a decade. A fucking decade!

Anyway the trailer for series 5 is above. Luther is back solving crime and locking super villians up and some character is returning that we all thought was dead…but none of us can really remember as it’s been that fucking long ago!

Breaking Bad Movie Gets A Title And A Premise.

Call me Sherlock ”Meth Lab Motor’ Holmes because I’ve always had a sneaking suspicion that we hadn’t seen the last of Jesse Pinkman or Walter White in Vince Gilligan’s amazing Albequerqiverse.

Yesterday, in an announcement TV fans didn’t see coming, series creator Vince Gilligan revealed that there will be a Breaking Bad movie and it will focus on the fate of Jesse Pinkman, who we all watched drive off into the sunset with an acute case of post traumatic stress disorder.

Greenbrier will begin production as early as next month and will be a straight sequel to the award-winning crime drama series and will also tie up the fates of a few periphery characters we may have forgotten about, (Badger?). Actor Aaron Paul will reprise his role and there’s even a rumour Bryan Cranston could return in flashback scenes as Walter White, although he has stated he has yet to see the script.

As a long time fan of the original series and spin-off Better Call Saul, (which, in my humble opinion is the superior of the two), I think Gilligan is doing something very special. Stretching an epic story with rich characters across two series and now a movie. His plan, so far, hasn’t suffered from any form of weakness or dilution and it’s exciting to watch a master storyteller create an entire universe these complex, rich and diverse characters inhabit.

No word yet if the movie will be a TV feature only or will get theatrical release.

Twelve Deadwood Cast Members Confirm Return For Movie.

HBO’s terrifically, gritty and sweary, western drama Deadwood is finally getting a movie and now it seems a dozen key characters will be returning for the big screen production.

Series creator David Milch has written a script and Daniel Minahan has been named as director and production of the Deadwood movie is now officially underway and today’s announcement that a dozen original cast members will be reprising their roles has sent fans of the series into meltdown.

The twelve returning cast members are as follows:

The movie will be set 10 years after the series finale and these characters and more will all be reunited to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood where former rivalries are reignited, as they all face the changes modernity and time have wrought.

No word yet if this will be a TV feature or will be theatrically released but for now a script, director and cast is in place and Deadwood the movie is scheduled for completion next year.

RIP Burt Reynolds

Oh man! Hollywood icon Burt Reynolds sadly passed away yesterday after a heart attack aged 82.

A man who, for most of his career, sported the world’s most famous moustache and cheeky grin he leaves behind a rich and varied catalogue of work ranging from the humour of Bo ‘Bandit’ Darville, (Smoket & The Bandit), to the steely determination of Lewis Medlock, (Deliverance).

 

 

A ton of celebrities have been sharing the fondest memories of Reynolds on social media. Here’s a few of the best. Rest easy Bandit.

Trailer For Second Season Of Ash Vs Evil Dead.

I have yet to watch the first series of Ash Vs Evil Dead, but it is on my list. Ratings and reviews of the American comedy-horror TV show, produced and developed by director Sam Raimi, were solid and extremely positive. Hence why we now have a second season.

The trailer above sees the return of Bruce Campbell as Ash battling the evil dead once more with plenty of claret  and the odd perfectly timed one-liner.

Ash Vs Evil Dead season two is set for release this October.

Conan Vs A Network Censor.
