There’s quite a buzz online for this Belgian film after it was Oscar nominated in the Best Foreign Film category last month. Variety have gone so far to describe Mattias Schoenaerts  as having: “A career-defining, powerfully physical lead performance.” 

The plot rattles long like so:

Domineering cattle farmer Jacky (Mattias Schoenaerts), constantly pumped on steroids, initiates a shady deal with a notorious meat trader. When a federal agent is assassinated and a woman from his traumatic past resurfaces, Jacky must confront his demons and face the far-reaching consequences of his decisions.

Think Bronson with a straw hat and a pitchfork.
