Right first things first, maybe this is just funny to people from the UK in particular those from Scotland but in this trailer for Steven Spielberg alien invasion mini-series the attacking extra terrestrials are called ‘Skitters‘.

*(spits mouthful of grog over computer screen)*

This word probably doesn’t have the same hilarious effect it will have on audiences over here but we would love to shake the writer’s hand who came up with that name. Fried gold!

The series stars ER regular Noah Wyle as a university lecturer who wears sweaters and knows a lot about military history, (wonder if that knowledge will come in handy throughout the series?). After his wife is killed and his son is captured…hahahahahahahahaha the aliens are called Skitters, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah…

*(catches breath and wipes tears from eyes)*

…Noah’s character heads up a plucky band of human resistance fighters who collectively work to repell the alien creatures which are called Skitters…hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
