Directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy the plot of the movie rattles along like so:

Avast! Second Trailer For Pixels.

Here’s the second official trailer for the Adam Sandler led sci-fi comedy Pixels set for release on July 24th.

The plot for the film rattles along like so:

In 1982, in the hopes of establishing peaceful communication with extraterrestrial life, NASA launches a time capsule into outer space containing images and footage of Earth life and culture. However, aliens misinterpret enclosed video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war. They attack the Earth using the games as models for their various assaults, including Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. President William Cooper (Kevin James) calls upon his best friend since childhood, former 1980s arcade champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), to combat the video game characters, Brenner decides to lead a team of retrogamers to defeat the aliens with various technology similar to those used in games.

I’m not a fan of Sandler or James personally, or their movies, but the one saving grace for this film is that it’s directed by Chris Columbus, a man previously responsible for Home Alone, Mrs Doubtfire and two Harry Potter movies. We live in hope.

Avast! Trailer For The 90’s Obsessed Movie Dope.

Here’s the first official trailer for the movie Dope, a film which took this year’s Sundance Film Festival by storm.

In fact such was the ruckus this movie created Sony Pictures snatched up the distribution rights to the film for a cool $7m. Dope charts the highs and lows of three high school friends living in Los Angeles who share an obsession with the 1990s, punk rock and hip hop culture which makes them easy targets for the bullies in their tough neighbourhood.

Dope is scheduled for general release on on June 19th.

Avast! Trailer For Disney’s Tomorrowland.

Here’s the second trailer for Disney’s new spectacular looking film Tomorrowland.

It stars George Clooney and Britt Robertson and is directed by Brad Bird, (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol), with a screenplay from Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof.

The official plot of Tomorrowland rattles along like so:

From Disney comes two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird’s riveting, mystery adventure Tomorrowland, starring Academy Award winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as Tomorrowland. What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

Avast! Trailer For The Creepy Crimson Peak.

Film director Guillermo del Toro, (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth),  is a busy, busy man with a multitude of projects in the piepline including a new Frankenstein film and an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s iconic novel Slaughterhouse 5. So it’s amazing he finds the time to direct other films such as Crimson Peak, starring Mia Wasikowska, (Alice In Wonderland), and Tom Hiddlestone, (Avengers Assemble).

The plot of del Toro’s latest movie rattles along like so:

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.

Crimson Peak is scheduled for release on October 16th

Avast! Trailer For The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Here’s the first official trailer for Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring Henry Cavill, (Superman), and Armie Hammer, (The Lone Ranger).

The film is a big screen adaptation and reboot of the much-loved 1960s TV series of the same name which originally starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum. The official plot rattles along like so:

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin. Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

I really want to see Idris Elba as the next James Bond but bloody hell does Henry Cavill also look like a perfect fit for that role too now. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is slated for release on August 14th.

As is tradition in America this time every year they put on a massive ornithology show featuring some sort of Superb Owl. The event is massive and companies and movie studios clamber to buy up advertising space during the televised coverage.

Here are all the Superb Owl TV spots for all the movies featured last night. You are more than welcome.

Avast! Trailer For Spy.

Here’s the official trailer for Spy the new comedy starring Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Jason Statham. It’s a typical ‘fish out of water‘ espionage comedy plot with McCarthy in lead comedic role.

Spy, which is just the most imaginative title, rattles along like so:

Susan Cooper is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.

Spy is directed by Paul Feig the man who is taking over the Ghostbusters remake and judging from this trailer it’s probably a remake I shall leave well alone.

Avast! Trailer For Big Game.

Here’s the trailer for Samuel L. Jackson’s new movie Big Game, dirrcted by Jalmari Helander who previously brought us the excellent Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale.

Big Game goes on general release on September 5th.
