The trailer below is for the independently funded science-fiction comedy Iron Sky, (which looks like a hybrid blend of Sky Captain Of  Tomorrow and Allo Allo), and is set for release later this year. The plot rattles along like so:

Towards the end of World War II from a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne(Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right. Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70′s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that has been over 70 years in the making, is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.

Of course the whole concept of this film sounds amazing but let’s not get too carried away as it comes from the same people responsible for this.

Avast! Trailer For Iron Sky.

Above is the latest teaser trailer for Finnish film director Timmo Vuorensola’s Nazi sci-fi movie Iron Sky.

You read that right. Nazis from space is probably another way to describe this film which, judging by the trailer, looks a lot like Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow..except less shit. Why less shit? Nazis in space, we rest our case.

As a dark science fiction that plays with Finland’s history of being oppressed by Russia, Iron Sky is a deliberate thematic throwback, a modern implementation of once-popular science fiction tropes that have fallen into disuse, such as Nazis in space.

As World War II comes to an end in 1945, Hans Kammler and other German scientists make a breakthrough in anti-gravity research. From a secret base in the Antarctic, Nazi spaceships are sent to the “dark side” of the Moon to establish the military base “Schwarze Sonne” (Black Sun). Their plan is to build a powerful fleet and return to conquer Earth. The film is set in the year 2018 when their descendants finally return.

Plus it’s got the same token German actor, (Udo Kier), Hollywood have been using in movies as a villain for the last 20 years.
