Who is Nicolas Winding Refn? Well anyone familiar with the Pusher Trilogy, three films about the criminal underworld in Denmark, which in our humble opinion is actually better than the Godfather trilogy, (oh yes we did, deal with it), knows that Refn is a film director of enormous talent.

One of his strengths is knowing when to ratchet up the tension in a realistic and grounded fashion which makes the movie and performances all the more convincing. The clip above for his latest venture Drive starring Ryan Gosling about a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver, demonstrates just that.
