Avast! A Booze Soaked Trailer For Grabbers.

This is a bit like the cult classic movie Tremors, but the only difference being instead of a sleepy little desert town invaded by underground man eating worms it’s a sleepy little Irish coastal  town invaded by man eating sea creatures.

Grabbers stars Richard Coyle (W.E, Prince of Persia) and Ruth Bradley (Flyboys, “Love/Hate”) and is directed by Irish filmmaker Jon Wright. The movie’s plot rattles along like so:

An idyllic remote Irish fishing village is invaded by enormous bloodsucking tentacled creatures from the sea. With islanders turning up decapitated and drained of blood, the inhabitants learn that the creatures–called Grabbers–are allergic to alcohol, making intoxicated people toxic to eat. Overrun and under attack, the hopeless locals realize that in order to stay alive they’re going to have to band together at the pub and do their best to survive the night.

Grabbers, which will be released towards the end of the year, was showcased at Sundance and picked up positive reviews with Empire film magazine describing it as: “a romantic but surprisingly scary monster movie that feels like a lost Amblin flick, shaken and stirred with a dash of The Guard.

Avast! Trailer For Wrong.

Earlier this year a film called Rubber was released and caused quite a stir as it’s central plot revolved around a killer tyre.

Keeping his feet firmly in the surreal director Quentin Dupieux’s, (also known as Mr. Oizo), second feature Wrong looks like all kinds of right. Starring Eastbound & Down’s Steve Little, William Fichtner, Jack Plotnick, Eric Judor and Alexis Dziena it tells the story of Dolp, (Plotnick), who searches for his lost dog, but instead encounters a nympho pizza-delivery girl, a jogging neighbor seeking the absolute, and a mysterious righter of wrongs, in a plot which will have Dolph questioning his sanity.

Wrong has just been accepted into the World Competition section at next year’s Sundance Film Festival.
