The Foo Fighters have come under fire from ~~that crackpot group of religious nutcases who creep us the fuck out~~ the West Boro Baptist Church, (WBC), regarding their latest video promoting their North American Tour.

The five minute promo video entitled Hot Buns has the band dressed as long distance truck drivers showering with each other after hard day on the road, of course sexual innuendo is high throughout the video and why not. What’s wrong with a little humour in the showers? Well apparently it could lead to the wrath of the Lord and a day of destruction which will wipe out every sinner on earth.

Really? Just for horsing around in the shower for some cheap laughs? Bit harsh.

On the WBC’s official homepage, delightfully entitled God Hates Fags, the following post can be seen:

WBC to picket the Foo Fighters at the Sprint Center. The entertainment industry is a microcosm of the people in this doomed nation: hard-hearted, Hell-bound, and hedonistic. These people have a platform and should be using it to encourage obedience to God; instead they teach every person who will listen all things contrary to Him: fornication, adultery, idolatry, fags. The people in this nation have sinned away their day of grace and have so enraged their God that you are seeing new outpourings of His wrath continually. We will be there to remind you that the day of your destruction is upon you, even as you vainly seek comfort in the frivolities of this life.

Here’s a video of two children, that’s right two children, doing an outstanding job of covering The Foo Fighters song Everlong at the Electric Picnic Festival in Ireland.The synopsis of the video on YouTube explains:

Dylan and Lauren (or ‘Sandalwood’ as they are calling themselves) perform their favourite track ‘Everlong’ (Dave, Grohl, Foo Fighters) in the OxJam tent at Electric Picnic festival 2010.
Lauren (11) spotted the ‘open mic’ sign outside the oxjam tent, grabbed her brother and barrelled over …within barely a minute I heard them announce ‘next up a brother and sister combo…’ and I barely had time to get in with the camera, thankfully it took dylan (12) a minute to retune the borrowed guitar to drop-D.

The Foo Fighters are due to play the Oxygen Festival in Ireland this year and you just know that if Dave Grohl sees this video he’ll have these kids up on the main stage performing with him.
