Avast! Second Trailer For The Hobbit.

Good God December cannot come quick enough. Judging from this second trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey it would appear there’s a ton of action to be had, in fact I got the distinct feeling I was watching the trailer for some sort of Fantasy themed Dirty Dozen remake. Gandalf is obviously Ernest Borgnine and the leader of the Company of Dwarves, Thorin Oakenshield, (played by Richard Armitage) is Lee Marvin, which leaves Bilbo Baggins who is quite clearly Charles Bronson.

I could go on, but what’s the point.

He said he wouldn’t do it, then he did, then he said he couldn’t do it and now he has.

Here’s the first official peek at Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit and it looks fantastic. If you were a fan of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy then this is pretty much a no-brainer for you. Gandalf returns, as does a younger version of Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, and Gollum pops up at the end just to complete all your geekery desires.

Those of you who have had sex before unfamiliar with the plot of The Hobbit, it rattles along like so:

Bilbo Baggins is a Hobbit who is approached by the wizard Gandalf the Grey to join a crew of dwarves on a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released nationwide on December 14th 2012.
