Avast! Trailer For The Revenant.

Ever since it was first announced I have been feverishly anticipating Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy and judging by the fascinating trailer above, which features some jaw dropping cinematography, my high expectations for this film may have been met.

The plot for The Revenant rattles along like so:

Deep in the uncharted American wilderness, hunter Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is severely injured and left for dead by a traitorous member of his team, John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). With sheer will as his only weapon, Glass must navigate a hostile environment, a brutal winter, and warring Native American tribes in relentless quest to survive and exact vengeance on Fitzgerald.

Since this trailer was released last week reports have leaked online that the film is $40m over budget and although it’s release date is December 25th, Iñárritu is yet to film the end of the movie.

Avast! Trailer For Mad Max: Fury Road.

Here’s the first official trailer for George Miller’s forthcoming Mad Max reboot: Mad Max: Fury Road.

Yes the lead character has been re-cast with Tom Hardy taking over the Interceptor hot seat, but apart from that this has the Road Warriror stamped all over it. I’ve waited a long time for another Mad Max movie and judging what’s on offer through the trailer, it looks like the wait was worth it.

The plot of Fury Road rattles along like so:

An apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and mostly everyone is crazed, fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

Mad Max: Fury Road is set for release in May 2015.

Abbey Lee Kershaw Announced For Mad Max 4.

Will they? Won’t they? Speculation has been rife over the future of director George Miller’s pet project Mad Max 4: Fury Road.

The last installment of the franchise, (Beyond The Thunderdome), was 25 years ago and for the last ten years Miller has been actively trying to get the green light for the fourth installment which it’s hoped will signal the start of a new trilogy of films with Tom Hardy, (Bronson, The Dark Knight Rises), replacing Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky.

But now it seems things are actively forging ahead with the announcement that Australian supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw who, according to website Nerd Bastards, will play:

‘…  a sexy lady in a cage (a welcome addition to any film) who is part of a caravan of sexy lady wives who get chased around by the bad guys.  If the film actually begins shooting, this will be Kershaw’s first big-screen appearance.

Kershaw is now the third name to be confirmed for the film with Charlize Theron filling out the role of a one-armed female warrior and shooting slated for this summer in Namibia.

Avast! Third Trailer For The Dark Knight Rises.

A fire will rise…along with your pants after you watch this latest trailer for the third and final installment of the Christopher Nolan directed Batman franchise.

Of course there’s a lot more plot reveal in this trailer including an elaborate jail break from a mid-flight plane. July cannot come quick enough.

Avast! Trailer For Lawless.

After watching this trailer you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Great Depression in America was a blast. Full of action, danger, excitement, explosions and sexy gun battles. Sadly it wasn’t, as the reality looked more like this.

But hey, who cares about gritty realism when Hollywood is in charge. Let’s have a full blown, good old Southern hoedown with added Gary Oldman.

Lawless is directed by John Hillcoat a man responsible for such brilliant films as The Road and The Proposition, and stars a hefty cast consisting of  Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy the aforementioned Gary Oldman, Guy Pierce,  Mia Wasikowska and is based on Matt Bondurant’s novel The Wettest County In The World, which tells the story of  three brothers who find their bootlegging business under threat in Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia.

The book was adapted for the screen by none other than all-round mental bastard Nick Cave, a man responsible for the insanely brilliant script for the proposed Gladiator sequel which criminally never saw the light of day thanks to unimaginative movie execs, which included Maximus leading tanks during WWII and even featured the Pentagon. Here’s a small sample of a speech Maximus delivers in the script:

You are students, are you not? Scholars? Learned young men? Then, answer me this: Does Rome stand deep-fixed and deathless as in the time of the great Caesars? No. I think not. Does she prowl the world, hungry and fearless and all-power? Again…I think not. Do the Gods sit mighty and well-pleased in the Heavens and bestow on her, her just rewards? No and again, no…I think not. Rome weeps and this little fish swims in her tears. A fish…a little fish…hidden around an old man’s neck. The earthquakes that have ripped this mighty empire asunder…charge this little fish. The infernal plagues and disease? The hellish pestilence that ravages our land? Charge this little fish… The diabolical rage of the Gods? I say again…CHARGE THIS FISH. And charge the one that wears it! The man here spits n the eyes of the gods themselves! He is the enemy of us all!

F@cking movie execs!

Avast! Trailer For The Dark Knight Rises.

We’re a bit late to the party with this post but there’s a good reason. We really, really didn’t want to watch this trailer as our intention was to go in to see this film completely free from any kind of spoilers. Unfortunately we succumbed and although we resent ourselves, we were’nt disappointed either.

Want to know the finer details of the plot? Go read them elsewhere, all we know is Christian Bale is back as The Batman and Tom Hardy plays Bane who is the central villain of this final installment in the Dark Knight franchise. Consider our tickets bought.

Avast! The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer.

Set phaser to shitters! Here is your first look, (and by look we mean around five seconds of actual footage from the film), at what will become the most over hyped movie of a generation – The Dark Knight Rises.

The third and final Christopher Nolan installment of the Batman franchise will be released next year and will feature Tom Hardy as muscle bound Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

Avast! Warrior Trailer.

A quick word of warning before you watch this trailer for the film Warrior, which stars Joel Edgerton, (Smokin’ Aces, Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith) and Tom Hardy, (Bronson, Inception), it spoils the entire film. It’s so criminally bad it butchers every secret twist and turn of the plot right up to exposing the film’s concluding set piece. You’ve been warned.

On a side note Warrior looks like every other sporting film ever made, ticking all the boxes other sports movies have ticked before it; training montage, inspirational comeback, family conflicts, one last shot at glory, blah, blah, blah. But we’ll watch it for only one reason. This guy is in it…

…and he’s f@cking awesome!
